L^2 and myself are planning to use Bootstrap with our College Prep Math 2 Part 1 classes to teach Algebra and Geometry. It is my intent to get feedback from several student collaborators to provide feedback about different units. I ask the students that were helping our class during the summer to try different units and to give me some feedback regarding what they learned. Their feedback ranged from "love the idea of learn both math and coding in tandem" to "student won’t know what syntax, boolean, string, etc will mean and will get confused". I am looking forward to start teaching my college prep math 2 classes using the Bootstrap 1 curriculum.
Both my College Prep Math 2 Part 1 and College Prep Math 2 Part 2 classes are using the Bootstrap 1 curriculum. The very first activity of the year was to individually build a structure with six Lego pieces and the challenge for my students was to write clear instructions on how to put together their structure. This activity was the very beginning of programming, since a program is a set of instructions for the computer.
